How it started
How it started
Gallery
We are now open! Take a look through the gallery at our journey.
Feb 2016 The nursery.
It was a little grey!
The restaurant.
Outside Feb 2016.
The roof...
...needed a little TLC!
The nursery
The painter at work.
Painting
The nursery started to transform.
A little green
because we are in a conservation area!
The nursery
Almost there!
The nursery …
Just a little bit to go.
The container...
had to go!
The container...
...is gone!
Finishing up …
It's almost all white!
Painted!
It was quite a job to eliminate the grey.
Some finishing touches.
Done!
Inside the nursery April 2016
How it used to be.
The stripping begins...
...and what a job to get the old carpet off!
A face lift...
the transformation begins!
The jigsaw arrives
and they begin to put it together!
Finished
And doesn't it look good?!
Remember this! March 2016
The British Legion seating. Many a happy time had here!
And the carpet...
Wow!
The Bar...
is staying!
The seating...
is all out.
The back room.
The fridge has gone!
Quite a lot to go. …
The carpet went to families flooded out in Hawick.
March 2016
Nearly clear,
And it is clear!
Everything was eventually given away to those in need.
The bar.
Fond memories. More to be made though!
Take note...
no natural light!
The function room...
Now a storage room!
More seating gone.
But a surprise is in store for you!
The attic...
...look to the next gallery to see what happens!
As it was...
As it was from another angle...
and thanks to the neighbours who let us put scaffolding in their gardens!
Making it worse...
or so it seemed!
Off it comes!
Roof and asbestos going!
Glasgow asbestos boys...
...hardy and worked incredibly hard even when the rain came on.
Suited up...
and simply brilliant!
Looking out...
with the neighbours waving back.
Seeing daylight.
What a difference!
A view from the end.
A lot still to do.
And then it all stopped...
But the haps held on for 2 months!
No end in sight...
frustrated!
And then there was light!
A lot of it!
And then the Velux began...
and there was light at the end of the tunnel!
Tyvex...
and we were water tight again!
Slates...
YAHOO!
Slating gorgeous!
What a fabulous job!
And then it was done.
Sighs of relief all round!
Now for the inside...
no electricity needed!
A view from the attic...
all change!
Beaming beautiful!
Sal was a very happy chappy!
A bit of insulation...
a dirty, dirty job!
Insulation finished...
and we were not sorry to see the back of that job!
Plaster boarding...
watch the gallery for more progress!
Beams finished!
Even the kids have a role to play!
Stripper!
Gunk!
A bit of elbow grease reveals a great floor.
The painting begins! …
Plastered!
The ceiling that is!
Grandpa
A family affair. We needed his expertise!
But...
there is always time for cake.
Multitasking!
when painting!
The kitchen
Walls up.
The restaurant
Final coat
The roof...
is finished!
And then...
there was light!
Italian...
or Scottish!
Kitchen in
Tony's legs are not on the menu!
Function room
The prep begins.
The stage...
has gone.
A hole in the wall.
We need to get the pizza oven in.
Doors in.
More light.
Pizza oven. …
2 tonnes all the way from the south of Italy.
Safely in.
And we all breath a sigh of relief.
All in place.
Time to try it out.
Firebrick pizza.
Looking good.
Pizza chef...
gives his ok!
Paul the plumber...
can't get enough!
Somewhere to sit!
Chairs have arrived.
First party.
Happy birthday Giorgia.
The restauraunt...
is almost ready.
The Wine Bar...
ready to be filled.
A place to relax...
with a good bottle of good wine!
Art work...
and we are very nearly there.
